Young Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist

Young Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist

Some of you may have seen on my snapchat last Thursday that I was invited to attend the Kent Excellence in Business (KEiBA) 2016 Awards Ceremony as 1 of 3 finalists for the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. It was a gorgeous, formal gala with 600 other business owners rendering it a great opportunity to network and of course dress up and take pictures for you guys!
I applied in April as per one of my new year resolutions/goals for this year. 2015 was the year that I worked my hardest to establish the brand and push sales, giving me the confidence to go for such an accolade.
A remarkable 17 year old took home the trophy due to his wide breadth of commendable entrepreneurial activity and it was well deserved. Naturally, I was a tad disappointed as it would have been fantastic to win the title after the hard work I have put into NikitaByNiki so far, however, there is always room to improve and once I'm truly ready, the award will be mine! I am very proud of myself to have even been considered and be in the running alongside as such inspiring individuals.

The look

I found finding a dress for this event very challenging and returned at least 8 different dresses! I wanted something pastel or white, floor length, tailored and plain, something which is a rare find in amongst all of this season's prom/wedding collections.

The night

I may not have won, but I've taken home a huge finalist frame which I'll be putting above my desk to remind myself what I'm working towards every day. And most importantly, I made the closest people to me feel proud. To quote my boyfriend, "...Look around, we're all here because of you and those gruelling, extra hours you put in!"
Due to popular demand, my next blog will be a summary of my experience starting up NikitaByNiki. Please leave your comments below on what aspects you'd like me to cover.
Thank you so much for reading!
